A Hindu group protests over the Friday Prayer sessions at the Toronto school

A religious controversy has started in Toronto. The Canadian Hindu Advocacy has launched a protest against the Friday prayer sessions at the Valley Park Middle School. The group’s leader said that this is part of the Islam-ification of society. The group protested at the Toronto District School Board’s headquarters on Monday. Jewish Defence League of Canada and the Christian Heritage Group also participated in the protest.
I think this Hindu group is unnecessary trying to create a controversy. It will only generate hate and anger between the community. The Friday Prayer session was started with the consultation with the community. Director of of Toronto District School Board confirms this. He said that prayer sessions was made in consultation with the school community. Parents of students who are not Muslims did not object over the prayer sessions. He further said that the Ontario Human Rights Code allows this kind of religious accommodation. 80 per cent of Valley Park students are Muslims.
Friday Prayer is a congressional prayer. Attendance is strictly incumbent upon all adult males who are legal residents of the locality.
I would like to mention here that Canada’s largest Hindu group, Canadian Hindu Network said that the views of the Canadian Hindu Advocacy are not representative of mainstream Hindus.
